Having always had a "passion for fashion," Eddie decided in 2003 that his first major fundraising effort in Kansas City would be a Celebrity Fashion Show to benefit his foundation, Quick Start and Lupus.  November 10th, 2003 "Showtime! Changing Lives in Style" Dinner/Fashion Show/Auction was held at the Madrid Theater in downtown Kansas City.

Title Sponsor, Lidia's Catering-Kansas City, provided a delicious seated dinner of Italian cuisine for over 325 guests. Sponsors, fans, and volunteers had the opportunity to mix and mingle with numerous Chiefs players, their spouses, and Chiefs staff members before taking the stage to model the latest fashions, jewelery, furs, and assessories from several Plaza merchants, as well as Eddie's personal designer, Hanging with Mr. Cooper Customer Clothiers from Beverly Hills.

Silent auction items included autographed sports memorabilia from K.C. Chiefs, other NFL players, and tennis great, Anna Kournikova; spa packages, artwork, dinners, and hotel getaways, just to name a few. The Live Auction portion of the event was conducted by Nigro Brothers Auctioneers and included a full length mink coat donated by Alaskan Furs and a private dinner party for 12 with Eddie and Shimika Kennison at The Loft catered by Lidia's Italy-Kansas City.

"Showtime!" was such an overwhelming success that plans for 2004's fashion gala were being made before the evening was over!
